Having the Mind of Christ

In order for you to begin functioning as a son-as Christ (Eph 4:15 “growing up into Him”), we must follow the pattern of “growth” or “transfiguration” given to us in the Word of God. This growth “into Him” starts with the renewal of your mind.

Ephesians 2:18 MEV

For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

Jesus did not say, “no one comes to heaven but by me”, but He did say “no one comes to the FATHER but by me”.

John 14:6 (ESV)

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Jesus came to give you access through the Spirit to the Father, and to know the Father is eternal life.

John 17:3 (ESV)

3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

Hebrews 10:7 (ESV)

7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’”

The Father expects me to do His will in the same way that he expected Jesus to do His will.

The New Testament focus is regeneration according to the purpose of Gods plan to return all things back to their original state, one with Christ.

Ephesians 1:10 (Wuest An Expanded Translation)

10 with respect to an administration of the completion of the epochs of time to bring back again to their original state all things in the Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in Him,

Modern Church has told you that’s it’s all about the relationship with God. Jesus came preaching that it is all about the reign (kingdom) of God.

There is a version of the gospel that teaches that everything God did through Christ is personal: personal salvation, His personal will for you, His personal call for you, a personal anointing for you. This teaching is not based in truth.

What God has done in Christ is for an overarching purpose that affects you personally.

God’s will is the same for everyone, to grow up in every way into a spiritually mature son in the image of Christ.

Titus 2:14-15 (ESV)

14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.

15 Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.

Colossians 3:2-3 (Wuest An Expanded Translation)

2 The things above be constantly setting your mind upon, not the things on the earth; 3 for you died, and your life has been hidden with Christ in God.

When Jesus Christ was on the earth, he disciplined hIs mind and heart to please the father in the thoughts of his mind and the meditation of his heart. This is how he was able to operate so profoundly in the works of the Spirit.

You cannot know the father of your mind is set on the things of the earth.

Jesus mind was never unsettled or wavering. It was decided and settled concerning the truth and he would not let anyone get in the way of his mind that was set on the truth.

Matthew 16:23 (ESV)

23 But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”

This process of mind renewal is about switching completely from your meditation on temporal things to the meditation of the Truth. You will not be transformed if you only add Truth to your meditation, you must abandon meditation on the temporal.

The temporal is exactly that: temporary. Focusing on what is temporary expecting the temporary to change is simply like “chasing your tail”.

But to focus on truth ONLY will ALWAYS CHANGE THE TEMPORAL. When we focus on the truth concerning healing, the temporal state of sickness is ALWAYS changed. This is in fact the reason that we as sons of God are here, “to subdue the world…with our faith (belief)”.
