In the past 10 years, I've seen more supernatural things happen than what I've experienced for the other 50+ years of my life. By supernatural, I'm referring to things that I could not naturally do on my own. I've also seen a pronounced focus on worship. Normally, when I think of worship, I thing of singing and music but God is expanding our understanding of worship. To worship God is to give Him honor and glory.
We have seen cloudy eyes become clear, eyesight restored and deaf ears opened.
In the Gospel of John, chapter 11, Jesus was told that His friend Lazarus was very sick. Jesus replied that the sickness would not end in death but God would get the glory. The same happened to a man with leprosy in Luke 17. The man was healed and he gave praise and glory to God in a loud voice. Some friends and I have been going out to various marketplaces every Thursday night for over a year. We have had some awesome encounters with God as we pray for people and lay hands on the sick. We've seen all kinds of pain go away. Broken bones seem to be repaired on the spot. We have had people we have prayed with tell us at a later time that they did go see a doctor. Reports of cancer being gone, sprains repaired, heart issues fixed have been testified to us. We have seen cloudy eyes become clear, eyesight restored and deaf ears opened. In all of these cases, God received the glory just like the biblical stories.
Now I know that when we are in the places of everyday life, we are to introduce the reality of heaven.
I directed a house of prayer for 12 years in our city. For 6 nights a week, we had worship and prayer. I experienced the depths of worship through music and songs. I encountered the love of God night after night and I was overwhelmed. Then one night, He told me "You know My heart, now get out of here." I knew that I was supposed to do something in the marketplace but I wasn't sure what. Now, I know that when we are in the places of everyday life, we are to introduce the reality of heaven. When we do the good deeds that demonstrate the goodness of the Father's heart, we are glorifying the Lord. I am just as overwhelmed in the marketplace now as I was in the house of prayer.
In everything we do, let us do it for the glory of God. God is still looking for worshipers. We believe worship carries more power than we understand. Let us not lean on our own understanding but on His promises.
